inside the story.
My name is Øyvind Snekkestad. Wolves Among Us grew out of my own life — the faith I found and still hold, the communities I joined, and the questions I could no longer leave unanswered.
A life behind the words
I grew up on Oslo’s east side. My story moves from an unsettled childhood and years shaped by substance abuse toward an unexpected encounter with God through reading the New Testament on my own.
That faith brought me into Christian communities and Christian television ministry. I devoted myself to what I believed was right. Over time, I began to question the structures around me, and the gap between what people professed and what those structures produced.
Why I wrote the book
I did not write Wolves Among Us to present myself as an expert. I wrote it because I have lived through the questions, communities and conflicts it explores.
I want the story to stand on its own. The first two chapters are available here so you can begin reading and decide for yourself whether to continue.
